Harvest Farm

Our Farm on Salt Spring Island provides organic food and farming mentorship
ONE ACRE OF ORGANIC FARMING

With an acre of organic food production, the Harvest Farm is our pride and joy. We are providing beautiful, fresh produce for all of our food programs while at the same time teaching people how to farm.

We’re growing food and building connections

Our organic farm is located within the abundant Burgoyne Valley Community Farm which is managed by the Salt Spring Island Farmland Trust.

All of our produce is grown for Community Services’ programs such as the food bank, Harvest Kitchen Café, Harvest farm stand, Harvest Home Meals for seniors, community canning workshops, our 6 community “free” fridges and anything else we can think up. That’s the benefit of Harvest being a network of interconnected food programs.

We work with summer students, volunteers and our vocational development program, Success Works, which  gets people back into a stable routine with meaningful work. Along with food, we are growing the satisfaction of creating positive change in our community.
